The Sacramento Urban Debate League (SUDL) is proud to announce our 2025 Summer Policy Debate Camp, running from August 4th through August 8th. This online camp is designed for both novice and experienced debaters, offering a deep dive into the upcoming 2025–2026 national policy debate topic:

“The United States federal government should significantly increase its exploration and/or development of the Arctic.”

This topic opens the door to rich debates on environmental impact, energy policy, indigenous rights, international relations, and more. At camp, students will explore the topic’s complexities, build cases, and practice argumentation strategies—setting them up for a successful year of competitive debate.

What to Expect:

  • Daily instruction from experienced debate educators and coaches with high school, college, and national circuit backgrounds
  • Topic lectures covering core arguments, research strategies, and case writing
  • Small group labs tailored to experience level
  • Practice rounds and competition to test skills in real-time
  • Individualized feedback to accelerate growth

Whether you’re just starting out or aiming to qualify for nationals, this camp will give you the tools, structure, and confidence to shine.

Spots are limited, so we encourage early registration! The camp is completely free, though a $100 (or less; pay what you can) donation is suggested to help us continue offering quality programming and expanding access to more students across Sacramento. Donations can be made via our Donate page or via Venmo @sacurbandebate.
